Hi guys, finally we’ve just released the new web site version. There are some new features and of course we fixed a lot of problems from the old version.

Here a list of new features:

- user registration
- photo assignment (now you can have your own portfolio)
- user profile
- new rating system
- chart of the day, week and month
- top users (awards for chart winner)
- geo location
- cameras
- shot and post-processing details
- tutorials
- forums
- multi language website (soon)

So what do you think? We will be happy if you drop a line here.. compliments, criticisms but please not insulting (we have done all this mostly for passion and presumably we are not going to be rich)

Thanks folks!

Carlo,

For some reason since the upgrade, all my images have changed to having been posted by “Anonymous”, as it seems, have several hundreds of others, and I wasn’t able to log in, so opened a “new” account under my old name.

Is this allocation of “anonymous” a temporary error which you plan on fixing shortly?
If you are unable to, I would prefer my images were removed.

There seems nowhere to contact the web admin if you are unable to log in for some reason – lost password or whatever.

Just to clarify,
of course anonymous is not an user but the way we are using to assign old uploaded pictures to new register user.

Heelkleinekeek han-dekker 22 post(s)

thank you carlo, now I have to edit 52 pictures.. and I ’m not even a heavy user.. my sympathy in this is with johannes, the poor chap. ;-)

Heelkleinekeek han-dekker 22 post(s)

and, bummer as it is… people can still vote for themselves..
it should be possible to block that with user-accounts..
the person who uploaded the picture should not be able to vote for that picture..

excuses for my engrish, I’m dutch..

So how do I change the anonymous to my name so that I can have credit for my photo?

wumpiewoo,
just open your picture, scroll till the bottom of the picture and follow the instruction under “Warning”.
Of course log-in first.

I am having similar problems. I tried to start an account and it won’t let me update anything. It hides my images. And insists that I live in Afganistan. (I am from US). I have tried to post to the forum several times and I get error messages saying it can’t accept my messages at this time. I hop it goes through this time as I have alot I would like to hare with this community. Thanks.

register, and… WAIT FOR MAIL! with the log-in in the mail it wil work.. I had the same problem, it made my a bit angry…. but now its oké and I have credits with my photo’s again.

Overall I love the new look, layout, etc. However, there are a few quirks that should be addressed.

When you edit a photo and you also geotag it, and then you go back and re-edit something in the photo, the geotag info is wiped. Additionally, it also appears that some of the other information is wiped (like software, camera, etc), but it isn’t. This should be fixed.

Second, the layout doesn’t quite seem to fit Firefox (I’m running 3.0.11). Does the new 3.5 work better? The layout appears fine in IE and Chrome.

Third, the “search” function is not done well. When you type something in, you can’t just hit enter, you have to use your mouse to select one of the options that comes up.

It’d also be nice to receive and email when comments are made. Or at least having the option available.

Looking good chaps! I’m still not sure about being able to vote on my own photos, not that the voting is important to me. I wish though that after viewing a photo you could just click to the next image without going back to the gallery page all the time (or is there a way I am missing?) Something like photoblink would be so easy lol Anyway the site looks great.
UPDATE: I worked out the last point thanks! DOH.

The site changes are really great. I’m just waiting for the ability to delete some of the photos I posted prviously. Also, do we really need the Download (photo) capability? Now that I know folks can download my photos, it’s a good thing that I only put low resolution photos on line.

Following your suggestion we have added the following features:

- users can’t vote their own photos
- new Geo tagging location (don’t lose data if you edit pictures)
- receive email notification on photo comment

Great job! A lot of work and you deserve many thanks for this site. I vote that we not be able to vote for ourselves – I don’t. Also I miss the choice to see the original shot without downloading. In the current state, panoramas are too small to appreciate.

Hello everybody, The site looks Great and i have registered yesterday! I have found a “little” problem though.. I mistakenly forgot to specify a file while uploading my first image to the site and it was still possible to continue the upload.. As i could not find an option to delete the empty entry, i tryed to remove the title and text in the other fields in the hope that would remove the empty entry, unfortunately it looks like that screwed up the gallery and trying to open the image gallery returns with an error message.. I’m sorry to be so silly to not specify a file first!
Hope this will get an authority site on HDR imaging and like the layout and graphic interface (with dark background) a lot, the display of the images is outstanding! Cheers, Marco Waagmeester.
