This is Lexy in a rodeo event called Steer Daubin(g). She is the one who had the horse that passed away.
This weekend she won the State of Indiana NJRA(National Junior Rodeo Association Finals. She normally would have ridden King for this event. She had to borrow a horse just to ride this event. She has another horse called Doc, but he would not have been good for this even, plus they didn't want to tire out her horse. She rides in a total of 4 events. Steer Daubin, barrels, poles and goat tying.
Very proud of this girl for rising to the top and beating the rest of the competition.

The object of steer daubing: The steer come out of the shoot and the rider must "Daub" the steer on the hind quarters before he reaches the 3/4 length of the arena. An average time in this event is about 2 seconds.
