Riverfront located in Natchez Mississippi. Isle of Capri Riverboat Casino at base of hill. Background shows a tug pushing barges down the Mississippi River. Stormy dark sky over area as shot was taken. Across the bridge from Natchez is Vidalia Louisiana.

I'm with Larsen and Athlon. Mediocre i'm afraid. I'm inclined not to vote on it aswell. The 'front page' system on this site needs some serious revision! Just my opinion.

Digicam, just purely out of interest and nothing else, if this picture had been posted by someone else how many points would you give it and why?

I respect everyones opinion. If you are signed in and download the image to fit your screen and view it rather than the front page image I think you would see difference in image.

I see little to NO noise in the image. Perhapsw it isyour screen or maybe mine just doesn't show it. Whatever.Sure it's NOT the BEST image. Maybe not even the Best of the Day.

However there are some members who viewed and thought it was worthy of the vote it got. If it would make everyone happy for me to remove it then say so.

To answer your question of a score Matt. If you are anyone else had uploaded this image and it looked as it does on my screen I would have scored it an 8/10.

I also wanted to mention the dark gritty look to the highway and sidewalk is NOT NOISE but actual color and wear to the surface. Thanks for your opinions....digi

Interesting discussion ;-). To be honest - I was also surprised on the score - I gave 6P. The main reason for this is the missing focal depth - only the boat and the house seems to be within the focus range, so the image apperas quite unsharp and flat.

I also don't think that the image has a noise problem. And the perpective/composition is well chosen.
