Modlin Fortress (Polish: Twierdza Modlin) is one of the biggest 19th century fortresses in Poland.
It is located on Narew and Vistula rivers some 50 km north of Warsaw.
Wieza Michalowska (Sw. Michala) - St. Michael's Tower was built in 1839. Its purpose as one of the battery emplacements of the Modlin Fortress was to guard the approaches to the river crossings across Vistula and Narew.
