Gena Alta - HDR Photo
Gena Alta, located at 800 m. above sea level, upstream of Lake Mis, was once inhabited by more than 100 people. Their economy was based mainly on work in the woods. But because of emigration and after the flood of '66, the village has been completely abandoned. Today is part of the National Park of the Belluno Dolomites. In Gena Alta there are a few ruins of the houses. Roofs and floors have collapsed and everything was abandoned. Just some houses, restored by private, back to life especially on weekends during the summer.
