I made this shot while visiting New York City in October. The weather was cold and gloomy, and while I wasn't really thinking about HDR, I figured "what the heck," and used the auto bracketing features on my Nikon D700.
I processed this image in Nik Software's HDR Efex Pro, using a custom preset (Artistic Exteriors #2) that I developed along with Tony Sweet. This preset is intended to create a surreal, "grunge" style that I thought looked interesting with the moody clouds and structure of the bridges.
I finished off the final retouching in Nikon's Capture NX 2.2.6.
