"Val di Piero" waterfall - HDR Photo

Who will need to transit for the first time along the highway 203 Agordina that connects the Agordino to the lower part of the province of Belluno, certainly will notice the vertical walls of gray rock overlooking the road along almost the whole route. At a hasty step the mountain looks like a single unit, winding to the sides of the valley that makes the landscape quite monotonous. But if we slow down our run, mile after mile, we realize that there are some valleys that interrupt the continuity of the rock. Obscure, and often narrow vertical slits that hide the real gems. It's the case for example of the “Val di Piero”, near La Stanga village. A dark vertical opening between two high walls, few meters wide and entirely occupied by a riverbed. Wear high boots and won the first chills of the cold water, the path goes into the heart of the mountain. The landscape becomes surreal and only the water flowing accompanied our steps. After about a half hour of walk, with many dangerous jumps between the large boulders, the dark and the dull sound of falling water foretells the show dedicated to the most daring explorers. The final waterfall! A waterfall high about 20 meters. Crystal clear waters that fall from the roof of a cave to a small lake, and then begin their run toward the outside.

This is a vertorama of 6 HDR images processed with Photomatix Pro, and merged in vertically with Photoshop Photomerge. I use Nik Color Efex Pro to adjust contrast and colors.
