Hope Tunnel - HDR Photo

This is a train that was ruined by the Great Wenchuan Earthquake in a tunnel in 2008. An artist bought the ruins and established it in an exhibition hall to show the power of the nature and also as the title reminds us, we may be small but we are not powerless. Through rememberance, reflection and concerted action, each one of us has the power to help-and to hope.

This a panorama I took in 8 columns X 3 rows each with 3 bracketed exposures, the total number of photos taken is 8X3X3=72. I then loaded all the photos to PTGui Pro for stitching and tonemapping but this one was the tonemapping result from the stitched .hdr file in Photomatix Pro.

The original picture has a pixel of 13576 X 9108 (123.65 MP) and the uncompressed file size is 354.7 MB

Awesome image! But 72 images is a bit too much for my liking. I believe you could reach the same effect with 7 or 9 bracketed shots. No one would see any difference ...

Great picture. I agree a tighter crop would have lifted the image. But still a great picture.
