A rusted bonnet on the front of a Morris Minor. This car looked as though it hadn't been driven for quite some time! It was clearly a very old car that hadn't been looked after, but actually appeared to be in pretty good condition apart from the obvious cosmetic problems. I saw it just as photographed. I arrived at the precise moment that the afternoon sun left a beam of light across the handle to open the bonnet, and I very quickly got a picture. In terms of processing, I brightened up the Morris logo a little and selectively sharpened up areas, before turning this single image into an HDR. Using Topaz Adjust, I improved the contrast and 'feel' of the peeling paintwork to create this final image.

I really like this minimalist approach. Beautiful tones.
