Schloss Pillnitz - Dresden - HDR Photo

The castle Pillnitz from the 18th Century lies on the River Elbe in the former village of Pillnitz, which now belongs to the district of Dresden. It consists of three main parts of the building, the water lying on the same palace, to the opposite mountain slope towards the palace, and connecting them to the east side of New Palace. The area enclosed by the buildings of baroque pleasure garden is complemented by a surrounding park. Shown is the mountain palace "Bergpalais".
