~ Reckless Abandonment ~

While we were on a photo exploration trip, in the middle of January, much to our delight, we came upon this old abandoned home. Not far from the road we were drawn to take a closer look. It was a very cold day. It had snowed several days before and I was amazed at how green the ground cover was peeking out from under the snow. This home obviously had seen some hard times with its weathered wood, torn screens, broken windows with bullet holes and vines growing through the broken glass. HDR made this old abandoned home come alive. At the end of our day of exploring we decided that this old home was the “highlight” of our trip.

NotesLooking back on the before shots of this HDR image I am amazed at how merging the images in Photomatix Pro enhanced the final image. It brightened the dark shadows and made this old abandoned home come alive.
