Beyond the Sign - HDR Photo

I was set up with my tripod trying to get a good shot, of this gate and the scenery behind. It wasn't until I went back to handheld, that I arrived with this image, which I feel leaves a lot to the imagination.
My point is, that although the tripod has it uses in certain circumstances, its only until you go back to hand held you feel a sense of freedom to be really creative.
