The Ulpian Basilica was at the time of its construction, the largest basilica in Rome, part of the complex of the Forum of Trajan, and entitled to his family (his full name was Marcus Ulpius Traianus fact). Today only the central section is visible, with the western apse hidden under via dei Fori Imperial (arrive at the foot of the monument to Vittorio Emanuele II) and the east under the staircase Magnanapoli and adjacent buildings.
