Three exposure HDR…yes, three exposures. He was that still. My girlfriend was entrancing the horse off frame with a tomato. He just kinda chilled there while I frantically moved my tripod around getting different angles. In between shots, he’d wiggle an ear or stretch his neck, then look at us, almost as to say…”Oh, another? Go for it.” A very understanding steed. Heh. I’ve never had much luck with making an hdr from a single raw. The images are always way too grainy. Glad I took the initiative to use the tripod on this one, but never thought it would actually line up so well. My girlfriend and I were really into it. A very exciting experience. It’s not often that every element of nature cooperates to your photographic advantage: epic clouds, perfect positioning of sun, clear mountains, and a 1200 pound compliant beast. This was shot on the side of a country road in Dillard, GA. Obviously took a very dramatic approach on this one. Have a great Wednesday.
