As I was leaving Monument Valley our guide, Cliff Zenor said, \"Be sure to stop at mile marker 13, look back and take a picture.\" This is the result. Cliff was spot on in recommending many great photographic locations.

this is incredibly beautiful. Such a great wide angle you have, you've captured everything splendidly.

This was a beautiful picture man- absolutely a great shot. Was this Monument Valley in.. Colorado?

29 Jun 00:00

Nice shot, I like the orange tones. The sky is a little overcooked though.

29 Jun 00:00

Is this the spot in Forrest Gump where he stops running?

29 Jun 00:00

I just drove through this area a week ago. It is beautiful place as is. Too bad you had to adulterate it with HDR. I am not a big fan of HDR. Great picture though.

Almost expect to hear something from Ghostrider playing in the background...

29 Jun 00:00

HDR really isn't a good technique, most pictures don't look good at all with HDR. Otherwise, a great picture. I will keep this in mind if I ever head over to Monument Valley =D

What kind of camera takes a pic like this? phxbbw6ft1@aol.com

God that is truly hideous, never have I seen tonemapping pushed to such disgusting heights.

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

I may travel near and far But never see an HDR In real life, things aren't like this Just tell me please - you take the piss?

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

Did Cliff Zenor tell you to transform this beautiful location into an unnatural mess with tone mapping?

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

Is this America ?

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

This is beautiful. It is almost as though you could step right into the scene and be there. Excellent work.

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

Why is the marker on the wrong side of the road?

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

Fake

29 Jun 00:00

Amazing picture...The color saturation and depth of field are spectacular.

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

It would be better if it wasn't tonemapped to pieces. Still cool though.

29 Jun 00:00

(background song by Bob Seager): "...against the wind....I'm still running against the wind...I'm older now but still running against the wind..."(Forrest Gump stops) Forrest Gump: "I'm pretty tired...I think I'll go home now"

29 Jun 00:00

How do you contact the artist? I'll give you $50 if you have a higher resolution of this picture. <formido@gmail.com>

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

is this the same landscape from forest gump where he finally decides to stop running?

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

Oh my go i bet you could get some speed coming down this road!

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

Is this the same location where they shot the scene from "Forrest Gump" where he is running in the desert.

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

whats left of lake Miti shallow inland ocean that drained when a huge crack opened up (grand canyon) actually only some 15,000 years ago. who the hell came up with the erosion theory any way? millions of years my ass!!

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

Why does this look so fake? The road is too straight in the background... the purple mesas look ps'd. The markers look too start. Hmmm..

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

i see your great work on flickr and i love your hdr! amazing

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

This is absolutely gorgeous and breath taking. Amazing shot.

29 Jun 00:00

"...Too bad you had to adulterate it with HDR. I am not a big fan of HDR..." LOL... What is this web site called again? Jokes aside, this is a great shot.

29 Jun 00:00

John Rodriguez, Monument Valley is in AZ, though there is a Monument, CO. Mego, have you ever spent any real time in the southwest? Colors happen!

29 Jun 00:00

very beautiful!

29 Jun 00:00

How beautiful. I'm not a professional, but this is an awesome photo. Kudos to you!

29 Jun 00:00

the sky looks so crazyyy

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

Wasnt this the scene used when Forest Gump was being followed by the joggers???

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

the background looks so ominous

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

why do the colors look so unnatural?

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

What the hell is the point of interest in this picture? The sky? There's a ton of it there. The road? There's so much to distract you from it. The desert? It's divided by the road. The mesa? Well, it is whats in the center of the picture but it's so far a

Isn't this the location used in Total Recall when Quaid's eyes start to bulge out of his head?

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

the colors in this are awesome. i love the purples and blues

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

Wow that's the shittiest photochop I've ever seen.

29 Jun 00:00

Put a mega pixel digital camera in the wrong hands and this is the sort of pseudo hi-def, colour saturated, levels enhanced piece of crap you will get. Oh for the days of 25asa ektachrome and an Olympus OM1 fully manual SLR which would have taken a truly

I wanna be right in that spot right now.

29 Jun 00:00

overdone HDR image, a perfect example of not knowing when to stop. Image itself is nice, but way overdone...

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

JUST BREATHTAKING THIS IS AN AWESOME SHOT...

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

Great clarity. Nice shot.

29 Jun 00:00

great photo! i love the perspective of it. :)

Mother Nature called. She said "Cut it out, you're ruining my work..."

29 Jun 00:00

Very nice. I truly enjoyed this photo.

29 Jun 00:00

Wow, you have captured a view many of us will never see in person. May the power be with you:) and thanks for sharing.

29 Jun 00:00

I have been here it is beautiful. Monument Valley is in Arizona.

29 Jun 00:00

This is the same picture Dean Karnazes uses at http://www.ultramarathonman.com

29 Jun 00:00

Landscape spectacular! Quite a view. Thanks for sharing.

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

I must admit I'm a little confused by the posters who just don't like HDR. Why are you wasting your time here?

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

This website is called "HDRcreme.com". Why not shut up with the "you ruined it with hdr" comments? dicks.

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

wow! i went to death valley in Nevada. and this picture really reminders me of the sun set over the panted desert. i like the farm of to the right showing the isolation of the desert. and one question how long is the road?

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

uh, technically speaking... Monument Valley is in the great state of Utah.

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

a fantastic capture!

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

Damn this pic rocks... u have artistically created a masterpiece!!! Can I use it as my wallpaper? amazing work!

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

Very nice picture..

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

Perfect

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

Very cool. Embodies what the Southwest is all about.

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

Does not deserve to be so highly rated. There are plenty of other pics far better than this overdone HDR.

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

very peronist!

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

I don't think this picture is an example of HDR. HDR would have incredibly good contrast throughout the image. This is actually lacking good contrast. See in the shadowy sides of the mountains in particular; I can't see hardly any of the detail there.

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

BEAUTIFUL...I can never capture the true feeling you get outside, you are very talented...

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

the spot where the light and darker colors connect looks somewhat fake.

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

There is clearly something suspicious about this picture staying on top of most rated, because there are clearly far better examples of HDR on this site.

29 Jun 00:00
anonymous

I think it looks great, Don't worry about the HDR haters even though there on a HDR website. Keep up the Good work.

The road travels due South from Moab, Utah, through Monument Valley and on into northern Arizona and Kayenta. If it rained during the day this was taken, the colours are only slightly more vivid than normal. It's an excellent portrayal of this stretch of
