This is the magic month for the sun setting and full moon rising over the Seattle skyline from the West Seattle vantage point. This ideal set of factors only happens once a year so I gathered up my photo equipment and my dog and took a quick drive to West Seattle. I was thinking that I would head down to Alki Beach and take the photos of the full moon from there, but remembering past experiences from shooting down there I thought that a unique night like this one needed to be captured from a higher vantage point, hopefully one high enough to see the Cascades peeking through the city skyline. As it turned out I got pretty lucky on my choice of Seattle city parks where I set up. I was trying to find a different park than where my final destination was, but it turned out to be a lucky mistake as I pretty much couldn’t have asked to be in a better location for this wonderful night and watched as the moon come out right in the middle of downtown Seattle. Many people remarked that the moon looked huge tonight — much larger than it usually does when it’s high in the sky. But then again, full moons seem to frequently appear large near the horizon.

Great capture of the Emerald City. I really like that it's not the same view I usually see with the needle. Really nice.

I forgot: Please use a smaller logo / watermark next time. In this size it´s only distracting from the beauty of your image ...
