E' una cella sepolcrale a due camere, presunta tomba di Tulliola, figlia di Cicerone, annessa ad una grande villa romana di età repubblicana, il nucleo antico sui cui resti sorse il Monastero. Presenta muri perimetrali in opera quadrata e volte a crociera; per la presenza di finestre con doppia grata in ferro venne denominata Crypta ferrata, da cui il toponimo Grottaferrata; trasformata in oratorio cristiano nel V sec., fu poi donata dai Conti di Tuscolo a s. Nilo.

on the chandelier at the top there are no chromatic aberration but part of the missing gold paint
