I took this image, late afternoon (dusk here in the UK). I wanted to create, the atmosphere and the feel of a warm british pub. I left it late enough so the lights were on, but not too dark so that I didnt lose the detail of the pub itself and the surrounding buildings.
I think late evening and night shots are quite difficult, but something I would like to have another go at.
Any hints and tips would be quite welcome ;)

I find it too dark and buildings leans to much to the right for me.

Thanks for the vote, but you obviously didnt read the description, if the image is brightned it looks stupid beacuse there are lights on inside. And if you look closely the road in front of the pub has a steep incline.

Thanyou for your votes, but I cant understand why some people say an image is too dark, when in fact I took the photo it was dark, and meant to be dark...hence the lights on inside. Advice on this type of image would be most helpful.

@Leanardo, thanks for that advice, I did have those exposures but felt that they didnt improve the image in anyway, and just used the seven images stated. A lot of noise were in the images +3 +4.

I applaud your effort trying this. I am also still experimenting with HDR night shots. Have not had the inclination to upload any and get slammed here yet. ;-D

Not all people realise that HDR is not all about massive detail and brightness.I had the same problem with "Afterburner".I processed it like I remembered seeing it and got a few negetive comments about lacking details and darkness. This is not surgery but

@Paul, Rick and Alessio. Thanks guys...I think Paul hit the nail on the head with his comments. I will be trying some more night shots hopefully, especially with Christmas coming with colourful lights and all.

According to Paul, if I wanted a clear picture, the day would take (I would ask the owner of the pub that I turn on the lights).
The darkness in a picture, is a defect
when not in line with the environment and circumstances in which it was taken
The rest

The rest is very subjective.

Well done mitch, i was there with one when this was taken, looks like you have captured it well under the low light conditions. Everyone has there own take on this shot. you have explained how the day was and time sure this says why the shot is darker and
