I like HDR when its professional like this photograph. The technique is very well applied and it doesnt look absolutely artificial like others. Its the perfect mixture, between a real and worked photo, to obtain the perfect balance.

I agree with Tony. It's a nice photo, but the solid black areas and crisp people in the foreground don't suggest it's HDR. I guess how far you push the tonemapping depends on the artist.
