Saw this two car train above Cannery Row in Monterey, California. Since I'm new to photography, this was my first true HDR attempt. I've adjusted the saturation down a bit and raised the contrast a bit. Appreciate any and all comments about quality of photo.

Welcome! I think this is a great first picture. Only a small halo on the top at the coach. Some areas under the wagon a to dark with less details. A small noise in the air and i would add some more contrast on several surfaces like the wooden stairway.

Like the POV and colors. Not sure if you made 3 single hand held shoots or only one with generating the others on your PC. If only a single hand held i would change to tripod shooting with real exposures. This will enhance the dynamic range (dark and brig

I like it better than yesterday, can be improved according to the advice of other users.
For example the area of the train wheels.

I'll add one to 8 for attitude. I have a cheap point and shoot which will performs OK for me but.. I found early a "good".. solid tripod & head is essential to multiple exposures as Dirk mentioned. Great POV and I love Monteray.

Thanks for the advice Dirk. I need to pay attention to the "little things" when processing a photo. Once I looked at what you indicated, I saw all the details I missed. Thanks again.

Dirk, My Canon 60D will take a max of 3 continuous shots and that's how I took this one. Didn't have my tripod with me but will consider that in the future.

Great first attempt. Listing to people like dirk, Ricardo, Mitch, Bjosted, darren, digica, rhuri, arnie and yes even John. They all have a wealth of knowledge and will give you great positive advice and are some of the best on this site.
