This is another one of my firsts. I have a big interest in IR photography and wanted to experiment to see what I can obtain. I used an IR filter and took this long exposure then I converted the channels in PSE and tone-mapped it in HDR Efex Pro (I am trying the trial version and so far it's allot of fun). It was not the perfect day for IR as the sky was cloudy but I think here it adds to the illusion of winter. As you might expect the trees are blurred due to the wind, being a 63s exposure this could not be avoided, same goes for the noise, which I tried to smooth out as best as I could. For the future I am planning on converting this camera into an IR one so I can really have fun with it. I looked at hundreds of photos and red allot on this and it looks like allot of fun.
Anyway, I hope you find it as attractive as I do :)

What a stunning image. You got a lot of milage out of that single raw. Did you make duplicates in PS and vary the exposures or is this a true single file?

this is a single raw image. HDR Efex Pro allows 1 image tone-mapping so this is a pseudo HDR I think. I am not very good with terms as I have never done this before till now. All my other stuff is 3 exposures

This is an excellent photo Adrian. Yesterday I decided regardless of how good the photo is I won't award a 10 for any single RAW starting today questioning true HDR. So please understand my vote here.

@digicam, if you have the time, can you explain how to take 3 different exposures for IR? My camera is not converted

Pleasant, not how to do IR, but I suggest you see the user's work bassman, which has very good IR, for example:

Thank you All! this is very dear to me as it reminded me of my youth when I was 3rd in my country at a painting competition and winter was the theme
