I like the composition! I think you over-smoothed the tree roots though. There's usually a lot of good gnarly texture to be revealed in tree roots which I really like.

I have a soft spot for tress and roots like this. I have obe tattooed on my arm and its in my company logo. Although I would reduce the diffusion a little bit to reveal those awesome textures!
