Notes This is the war memorial in Liverpool, when I placed the image on my computer the tree in the back ground reminded me of the sun in the words of the ode in the description. This got me to thinking of my dad who fought in the second world war, he survived the war but is here no longer. Anyway he came from Scotland road in Liverpool a true scouser of Irish descent, he was six feet three inches tall and eighteen stone, he was the most intelligent man I have ever met a lump came to my throat and a tear to the eye and I thought I couldnt upload this image for votes it would be like robbing the dead, so please dont vote, I also want no critique either I know it has faults, but its my tribute those long gone.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

I will honor your wishes with no score. My dad was also in WW2. I have been to the WW2 memorial in both my city and in Washington DC. I get choked up every time I remember the price that was paid for freedoms sake. The price for "Free"dom is NOT free
