Based on the comments and suggestions from the first post I went back and reprocessed the image. It looks improved to me and I am reposting. Let me know what you think.

This one is better than yesterdays with the lamp a little darker. It makes the separation from the lamp and curtain much more noticeable

Improved a lot, but still suffers the problem of yesterday,
 uniform color
 gives the feeling
 problems with white balance.

Agree the lamp darker helps but still the feeling in my eye of being over-powered by a common hue color.
