Notes LuminanceHDR was used to generate 2 tonemaps (Fattal and Mantiuk06) which were then layered in GIMP with the Mantiuk06 layer at 40% transparency. Levels and curves were adjusted on each layer before they were merged and the resulting layer was duplicated in overlay mode to add back some overall contrast.

A HDR tonemap of a single raw file. The file is some 6 years old and part of some old files recovered from one of my backup drives. It was shot with the 8MP Canon Powershot Pro1 but re"developed" using LuminanceHDR.

@jozefdeak: yeah, nice crop but this being a rather old(ish) file I only have 8MP to play with so I used the whole file. Your crop does make it more of a panorama-type, which looks pretty neat!

The clouds are dynamic.. understand the low mp to work with via crop.

First, Welcome to Creme. 2nd I can tell this isn't your first go around on HDR. Third: I used to use Luminance and am now recovering from the abuse that program put on me. I switched to Photmatix a few months ago. Have loved every minute of it. Tru

Trust me it's well worth the money and saves a ton of time and it's WAY easier to use that Luminance.

@flipd1: funny, I had the same experience with Photomatix some time ago and LuminanceHDR fits me like a glove. It takes time to get used to but once you settle on what parameters work for you, it's a doddle. Have a look through my Flickr account or on my
