This is the iconic Forth Rail Bridge that connects Fife with the city of Edinburgh. It is painted in this characteristic brick red colour. Nowadays the paint is permanent thanks to modern technology. Until a few years ago, a team of men spent their entire careers painting it. A common expression in the area, when something is taking forever, is 'it's like painting the Forth Rail Bridge...'
