What I meant is "washed-out" - having lost freshness or brilliance of color (dictionary). If you can't take a different opinion, there is no sense to comment on your pics at all, especially if you consider it a baloney!

Living and camping in Canada for many years (CLUE: I'm a senior), I have seen this scene many times that an Autumn sun and smoke produce. It is well done.
