This photo was taken from the top of the 90' cliffs overlooking Lake Huron. It was a rare day in that the sun was shining!
As the waves come to shore, they freeze at the lake's edge and progressively get larger as the winter wears on. By this time of the year, the ice is usually up to 1/2 mile to a mile out from shore, but this winter has been mild to date.
The main part of the photo is our most southern beach (you're looking north) with North America's largest salt mine in the background. The mine is about 1700' below the surface of the lake.
