About 110 to 130 years ago, derelict and unneeded sailing vessels were sunk offshore from our town on Lake Huron. Today, the skeletons of four of these ships are close to, or on, shore due to water currents, ice movements, and shallow water (the Great Lakes have dropped quite significantly in the last few years). This is part of the largest one. They have not been put under any protection, yet no one bothers to take samples but, rather, choose to leave them for others to see.
