I took this image by making multiple shots at different EVs for the first time using my Nikon D3100 rather than shooting a single RAW file. I'm convinced that having multiple shots at different EV is a lot more realistic than a Single Raw. I've done this manually and it took me a lot of time for me to change its EV. The reason why the sky is gradient-like (Black to Blue) is because of the Polarizing filter I used. No matter what preset I use it's always there so I chose what is the best for it.

You are correct, taking multiples is by far the best if you can do it. The more the better.

Agree, results are much better with different EV than with convert them from a single RAW.

Just a suggestion Mark but next you try a filter do a comparison, i.e. 5 shots with & 5 without, this way you will be able to gauge the difference... It will still change with the light available at the time....
