Really nice shot. Play around with the saturation and highlights levels and your halo's may go away. Or u can "paint" them out if you're good in Photoshop!

Camera club reference re mono being a LDR.
In photomatix I can reduce the flaring being using the highlight smoothing slider, I am not sure how this works in you program though. This is only a minor tweak to a good to an already great photo.
