Download shows it to be a frame from a Quick Time video file. Why?? Its incredibly noisy at full size and there are large sensor spots above the building.

Not sure why it says it's a frame from a Quick Time video file. I used Photomatix to process the HDR, then iPhoto to crop and export to JPG. I guess iPhoto tagged it weirdly...

...likely to be dust on the lens/sensor, or something wrong with the sensor, or too hard to tell without seeing the camera? Thanks for the tip about the noise too - much appreciated!

It's really an excellent photo,just need to denoise it.Try with Topaz denoise or Imagenomic denoise.Could also try in Photoshop.Sensor spots can be clone out also in PS.
