Yeah, I almost never count off for the "rule of thirds". Rules are meant to be broken. Plus in this case the rocks and the boat balance it all out

Just for the sake of learning the truth ..... but i did not invent these rules myself, but have been passed down from Great painters and then confirmed by famous photographers

This is not a rule like Do Not Steal, or murder. Do not run the red light or do not speed. It's more of an aesthetics rule. It's probably more opinion based much like flipping a photo horizontal. Sure it might look better but beauty is in the person vi
