The recently created man-made dunes at Camperduin in the North-West of the Netherlands are freshly planted with sturdy grasses to keep the sand from blowing around. These dunes are all that stand between the Northsea and the land behind the dunes which is at 4 meters (ca.12ft) below sea level. I'm a big fan of Frank Herbert's Dune saga and it reminded me of how I imagined the planet Arrakis might have looked like.
