New Calton Burial Ground is a cemetery in Edinburgh between Regent Road and the Queen's Gallery.
I liked the irregularitires and the fact this burial ground was built on a hill.

Is that halo in the sky at the tree line Carlo, or natural coloring?? I have no idea how Photomatix maps tones/colors, but my experience is that the algorithm is not very precise at the point where sky meets object.... my impression is that overcast skies (here and in my own pics) get darkened or painted with gray thereby losing some detail; in some cases I get lots of bluing where the sky shows between tree branches. If you know how to eliminate haloes, please tell me ?? Otherwise a very nice pic...I like the vivid green against the monochromatic backdrop of the stones and walls!

Hi Guy, I don't think it is halo but just a cloudy sky and good weather at the horizon that created this strange effect.
I might have reduced the black and white sky contrast to get a better result.

The grey effect is normally a result of an 'over exposed' area, which parts of the sky in the center & right half look like it may be are....Apart from the sky Carlo I like your composition & processing.....

OK, and since the sky is often overexposed (certainly in my pics), it gets "grayed"..... So the graying doesn't cause the loss of detail; there was no detail there to start with. What about tips for eliminating the haloes that I find too often in my pics, Inkslinger??
