A precariously balanced rock near Marble Canyon, Arizona. Don't pitch your tent under it!

This is a good example of what erosion does to materials of different resistances. The rock should be much more resistant than the surrounding material.

Thanks Jorge
It was an interesting place and only a short distance from that stone house I put up a few days ago. In fact, that house was built around the overhang of one of those smaller balanced rocks. It was cloudy and rainy for a few of those days that I took these pictures and a few others that I posted. Great textures in the sky and deeply saturated colors in the stone. Much better than sunny day shots. A few weeks ago I put up an image of the Hoodoo Wahweaps and a further example of the differing erosion rates was evident. Go back and take a look.
Are there any deserts near you? Most of the images you post are lush with vibrant colors. Also great eye candy. Keep shooting!

Hi Steve! Thanks for your comments. Very interesting! No, there isn't any desert inthe region were I live. There are some very dry areas in the Northeast of Brazil but not properly a desert. I live more to the South, very close to the Tropic of Capricorn. Regards!!
