Not too much color-saturation and great tonemapping...
By "Real" HDR, I think the person was referring to the fact that "HDR" composites can be made of multiple exposures, or artificially produced from one exposure. Photo matrix and Topaz adjust both offer the option to create artificial HDR.
great use of hdr without screaming post-production processed: subtle yet destictive patterning.
