The Outeniqua Choo Tjoe ran between Knysna and George on the southern coast of South Africa. Dating from 1928, it was the last remaining continually operated passenger steam train in Africa. Sadly, serious flooding in 2006 damaged the tracks to such an extent that there were no funds available to make the required repairs. The fine little engine sits in a museum in George and the rest of the infrastructure slowly succumbs to the elements and the vegetation. Here is what remains of the once neat and beautiful station at Wilderness.
