Roosting.....an area in the Marsh or Swamp where different variety of birds gather to feed and spend the night. Perched highest on a spanish moss covered limb is a Great Egret. Right below it to the left on another limb is a Snowy Egret. Both these birds serve as sentries to spot predators such as Gators as they feed. Green algae known as "DUCK WEED" covers the surface of the water. Any movement right below the surface of the Weed is quickly noticed by feeding birds and makes for an easy target.
