This steam engine is located at the railroad museum in North Freedom, WI. First processed with HDR EFX Pro software and posted in Dec. 19. This photo was processed with Photomatix software that was gifted to me by Rcuello. Thanks to Ed for his advice to use the Photomatix Pro and Topaz Studio software.

Yes, wonderful job JIm. Only negative I see in this image is some burn in the Sky Top Right side. Thanks for sharing and Good Luck in the Contest.

I just checked the location, three hours and eight minutes. I’ll check when they open up after this Covid issue. Hyde’s Mill is on the way back to my turf. I’ve been to Union. Is this place laid out better for photography?

@steve_zasadny It is laid out pretty well for photos. It is a fairly large site with many things undergoing restoration. If you are able plan on arriving before they open for the day so there are less people to work around. Where will you be coming from? Where is the Union you mentioned?

I agree with Ed that image would be nearly perfect if it wasn't for that burn in the sky ( I get plagued by that myself quite often ! ) + personnally I would have straightened up a bit the horizontal lines at the front of the train . Still an outstanding image , great job !

@kitfox I would be coming from Lemont , Illinois southwest of Chicago. It’s about 3 hrs so not bad. Union is east of Rockford just north of 90. There are many train barns there but crammed together. There are enough photo ops though. Your location looks interesting and I’ve already talked to one of train enthusiast photographers into going up there. Definitely will be booking it. Try Union for yourself. If you like trains you’ll have a good time. I gave a few trains in my gallery in HDRcreme. All were taken there.
