The image was taken in a slot canyon in Northern Arizona. It was a view looking straight up approximately 85-100 feet. The changes involved reorienting the view to a portrait presentation, flipping it horizontally to create better visual flow, resolution enhancements, color and contrast corrections. and multiple areas of light corrections

My favorite is the first one. I do not think that the portrait view is adapted here.... Maybe a square format would be an alternative... The reprocessed image is also too dark for me.

I prefer the 1st one too , it has a much better "flow" and I agree with philta22 that the 2nd one is too dark . Still a beautiful shot though !

I like both. Original has more Light. The Reprocessed is a bit on the dark side, but I think the darker shadowed areas gives the overall image more Depth. I also find the surface areas cleaner looking and has more detail than the Original. To get a Better comparison I guess the images would have had to be shown in the same perspective Angle. Just One Man's Opinion. Best of Luck in the Contest.

@philta22 interesting on the presentation. I might try a square format. On the vertical vs horizontal , I did an experiment in my office and had two prints. Presented them for a vote and they voted the vertical 9 to 2. But what the heck do they know?? Lol I darkened it to increase the contrast and better portray what was there. It was extremely dark and far darker than these images. I actually lightened it after I first posted it. ( I had to take it down to redo ). Looking at it on the sight I could have split the difference again at 60% darker to 40% lighter. The dark one I printed on metal and it looks really good.

@marcstephaneblais thanks for your views. I think what makes the first one look better on the site is that it’s horizontal and better fills the screen. When I printed a sample of each at the same size , the equal size presented a different look , probably why I presented it as a vertical.

@siuh Page is really great but the two Antelope canyons are difficult to photograph because of the huge crowds. Winter could be a good time to try those places.

@philta22 Ed is a good diplomat!! πŸ˜€

@digicam appreciate your support ( good diplomat ). Try and print a small one of each and see if the sizes being equal make it support your choice either way. The darkness was to increase the contrast and be truer to the lack of light. The color was more accurate on the reprocessed one. I’m glad that people like it either way. I’ll have to put a universal hook on the back that can be changed every week. Lol

I love the composition of this one.A little bit less pepper on the rock in the middle would be perfect.
