Just experimenting with a monochrome single raw image straight out of Photomatix vs monochrome edited by Lightroom. Which one do you prefer and why?

Too much Micro Contrast in this one I prefer the Lightroom picture

Carlo, they both have their merits. A lot more detail in the Photomatix image which is the one I prefer.

Agree with Joe. Photomatix. It prints out more detail and clarity.
