@carlo Those are low lying clouds. This was taken from about 5,000 feet. They call this the Smoky Mountains because it always looks like smoke is rising from the ground.

What I like most of all here Phil is the contrast between the 0 EV and Final Process bringing out that sky. However the white balance within the tree covered mountain is a bit too cool. Giving the Fog or Smoke a Blue Tint as well as changing the road from black to blue as well. Trees on right side in shade look very painterly while the trees on the Left side look more natural. Perhaps a bit too heavy on the Micro Contrast. Otherwise a very good capture. Thanks for posting it.
