Been a long time since posting on here. The entrance to the River Tyne is guarded by two Piers. This, the North Pier, still contains the old railway line which once allowed the smaller ships to unload and transport their goods into the centre of Newcastle - quicker than some of the boats which often had to wait for the tide. I should have really taken note of the clouds - I walked along to the end of the pier only for the heavens to open and with no shelter I managed to get myself a little bit damp!

Yes, Welcome Back Mr. Bull. Like the composition. I'm sure you like keeping to the Originality of the scene as shot but I feel Artistic liberties could have been taken here and the image Horizontally Flipped for greater Eye Appeal. Give it a try and see for yourself. I see it's been over 5 years since your last post. There have been a few new programs out since then that quite improve the overall look and feel of HDR's once they are processed. One of the Best is Topaz A I Clear which can take an image such as this one and take it from a Good image to Outstanding within seconds. Topaz A I Clear can be found within the Topaz Studio 2 program. You should download a 30 day Free Trial of Studio 2 and see for yourself. I think you will be so impressed you will want to re-do all your images with it. All the better images being posted these days use it. Just a helpful suggestion. Thanks for posting again.

Thank you Mr Digicam! And thanks or the heads up on Topaz. I will have a look, although it may ruin my mantra of keeping things simple - I rarely use photoshop, I don’t own any filters (well, only Photomatix Pro and 95% of the time just one setting) and I just shoot in JPEGS. I also use a Nikon camera - well, someone has to! I therefore spend very little time on a computer in order to produce an image.

@simon_bull , Okay Simon you've made your point and you like to keep things simple. Was only trying to help you improve your images. Using this A I Clear only takes a few seconds and the image is improved beyond your belief. Clearer, sharper and denoised all in one click of the mouse and usually in less than 10 seconds depending on the size of the image. Seeing as how you only use JPEG's then I'd say even faster. I ran your image of today thru it and the improvement was very noticeable. As I said before just a suggestion. BTW: I have always been a Nikonian. Nikon D300, Now a Nikon 800. Hope you will keep posting. Best Wishes!
