Great shot and the background really make it pop!

@franklamica Thanks, this much ice plus the sidelight and the great clouds occurs maybe every 10 years or so. This was the best combination I ever saw since the first time I wa there in 2011. I have at least 20 different compositions from both DSLR and a drone.

@franklamica I’m the same guy from several years ago. I posted a lot more when Ed Voisin was moderating. Lately, though, I haven’t had as many opportunities to get out and shoot a lot. I’m getting older too and a lot of the friends I’ve shot with have either passed away or just can’t move around anymore. I’m hoping to start freeing some time this summer. I’ve got a lot of bucket list stuff I want to get too. I remember you posted a lot of night stuff years ago that I always liked. What’s different now is a couple of things. First is the cellphone that does take really nice images. Most are satisfied with comes out of those phones. The newer generation of cameras have very extensive tonal range that many times will bypass the need for HDR skills. Also the newer cameras have a much better tone range, lessening the skill set needed to engineer by HDR techniques. So I guess there a fewer of us tech geeks that need to practice hdr techniques.
